OPERATION DESCRIPTION
- The equipment for measuring moisture in soils, earth, sand, clay, gravel or substrates, consists of a portable MI-7 reader, for interchangeable sensors, the SH-3 soil moisture and temperature sensor, 3 cm in diameter and 15 cm long and a tube, which is buried and remains in the representative place of the terrain, through which the soil moisture sensor slides, facilitating the work and which serves as a protective jacket for the soil probe. - To determine soil moisture, the sensor is inserted inside the buried tube, so that the water content of the soil can be recorded at different depth levels. - Once the reader displays the data obtained, it is stored in its memory. - This measurement mode makes it easier to insert the probe into the ground, reduces its wear, since it is not buried directly, and increases the precision of the readings, since the ground is not modified. - Readings can be taken at various points on the ground, installing the corresponding sensor casing tube in each of them. - During the reading operation, each measurement can be identified with a number on the analyzer, for later study, after being stored in the device's memory. - To measure soil temperature, the ST-2/75 lance can also be used, with the MI-7 analyzer. - The MI-7 reader includes 3 calibrations, for clay, loam and sandy soil.
